My Safe Florida Home: harden the house, let the state help pay.
The program offers free wind mitigation inspections and, when funded, matching grants toward impact windows, doors and roof improvements. We are a licensed contractor for the work it covers.

What the program has offered
- A free wind mitigation inspection by a program-approved inspector
- Matching grants, historically two dollars for each dollar you spend, up to a cap
- No-match grants for qualifying low-income homeowners in some rounds
- Eligible work: opening protection, roof-to-wall connections, secondary water barriers and related roof improvements

Program questions
Is the program open right now?
Funding is approved by the Florida Legislature in rounds and the application portal opens and closes accordingly. Check the Florida Department of Financial Services site for the current status. We can still do the work and provide the wind mitigation report whether or not the grant is open.
What improvements have qualified?
Historically: impact windows and doors, impact-rated garage doors, roof-to-wall connection upgrades, secondary water barriers and, in some rounds, roof replacement when recommended by the inspection.
Do I pay first and get reimbursed?
Yes. The homeowner pays the contractor, submits the invoice and inspection, and the program reimburses the grant portion after verification.
Can you do the free inspection?
The inspection is performed by inspectors approved by the program. We help you read the report and quote the recommended work.
Have an inspection report? Send it over.
We will quote the recommended items and tell you which ones move your insurance premium most.
