Impact windows and entry doors in Delray Beach
Whole-house opening protection on a Delray Beach home: the old aluminum windows with hurricane shutters replaced by bronze-framed impact windows, and the front entry rebuilt with an impact-rated double door with frosted glass sidelites.
Built for Carol, Delray Beach

The house still had its original aluminum windows and roll-down shutters, which is the setup most Palm Beach County insurers now penalize: the shutters only count if they are closed, and nobody is home to close them when a storm forms overnight.
Every opening was measured, ordered to its Florida Product Approval and swapped in a planned sequence so the house was never left open. The windows are dark bronze aluminum impact units, horizontal sliders and single-hungs to match the original layout, with the labels left on for the county inspector and the wind mitigation inspection.
The front entry got the biggest change: an impact-rated double door with full-height frosted glass, dark bronze to match the windows, which turned a plain stucco wall into the face of the house. The homeowner receives the permit paperwork and the opening-protection credit on the next insurance renewal.
